i'm tired, and it's my own fault. i stayed up till midnight last night finishing ME's pumpkin hat so he could wear it to church today. and i quick knit a tendril before sunday school so the hat would have two. but the hat's really cute. i hate red heart yarn, but it knit up nicely and the color had neat gradeations that lent a depth to the color.
i'm a mean parent. we gave the kids such mean nicknames. to wit:
the pixie is petunia, pretty pie, and worse, princess pissy pants and princess poopy pants, since she bitches when she messes in her diaper.
monkey ears got off easy. his knick-name is the pukemeister, since he sometimes horks up formula after a feeding, spesh if he gobbled it too fast. i call him jolly joe when he smiles, becos he always has this goofy jolly grin.
the boy is mr. magoo. tell him to find something, and he'll never find it even if it's 6 inches in front of his face. lately he acquired the moniker father flanigan, the self flagulator, since he beats himself up when he gets into trouble. he got this name a few weeks ago, when i got mad at him for something (i think it was using up all the hot water while i was trying to get a bath, and the since the babies bathe with me, we had 3 cold baths). he got mad at me and told me he wasn't going to give me a good night kiss. an hour later, he changed his mind.
i feel awful giving our kids these names, but honestly, they make me laugh. the other night hubby and i laughed so hard about their nicknames, i had tears in my eyes. and they are honest names! the pixie does get mad when she has a dirty diaper! and even my mom laughed when i told her we called the boy father flanigan.
i love when hubby makes me laugh. the days are hard with the twins and dealing with the boy's antics, but hubby's sense of humor brings me down to earth and helps me feel better.
