foyst of all, happy thanksgiving y'all. say a prayer today for all you have to be thankful for.
secondly, just a few little bits i've discovered that mean the world truly is fucked up...
1. for the amount that i tithe to church in a month, i can lease a LINCOLN crossover. yes. i never thought in my life that i could afford a lincoln/caddie. not that i ever will - they're not my taste - but that's really messed up.
2. bill nye the science guy gets a restraining order from his ex becos she tried to poison his garden. that's messed up. i love this guy. i miss his shows. can't you tell how much a science geek i am?
3. (and the most astounding that i almost peed my pants) yesterday i went to pick up stuff at country cupboard and saw a MENNONITE WOMAN DRIVING A BEEMER. YES. AN OLD BMW BUT A LUXURY CAR NONETHELESS. why do i think this is fucked up? for those who never grew up in pennsylvania dutch country, the mennonite community is like the amish community - they're a branch of plain folk who do embrace some of the modern world's (like electricity and indoor plumbing) AND cars (however they have to be dark with no chrome.). this woman was driving a teal bmw. when i told mom about her mom said, "i've seen her down at the mall at the thrift store." so THAT'S how they afford a bmw. okay. so i guess pride does goeth before the fall.
4. mom's getting a new knee (not so messed up). mom needs help with the church music for the next month or so and she asked different people at church to help out a sunday or two. the best excuses: "i can't play becos i get physically ill" (fuck you. it's church, not fucking carnegie hall or lincoln center). 2. "too busy with school." (fuck you too. when i was in school i was in concert and marching bands, svb, districts, chorus, play/or musical depending on the year, piano and flute lessons, one year concert band at su, honor society, different clubs/student government, and studying my ass off with maths and sciences, my hardest subjects. but i still managed to sing in church choir, go to youth group, and play piano and flute in church. asshat).
5. and my favorite, tday with the inlaws. what i hate: hearing everyone one-up everyone else on how much they're so busy/life sucks/etc. etc. etc. i told hubby i'd just go and sit and knit on the porch, and don't bug me until we leave.
tomorrow's the doodlebops. sat's tday with with my family. spend the rest of the weekend decorating for xmas. tuesday's my knit from the toe socks class. woo!!!!
later y'all.
