my wrists and shoulders have been paining me for a few weeks now. my wrists are really bad, so painful that i actually got out my old wrist splint from a few years ago and have been wearing it. i guess my mad knitting over the past few weeks has done me in. i know i can alleviate some of the pain by taking an advil, but this is the woman who tries to suck it up during migraines, so i've just been laying off the knitting (which is damn hard) and soaking my wrists during baths. last night i used epsom salt, which helped. i looked up some posts on ravelry and one suggestion was those icy hot wraps that people use for backs/whatever, so tomorrow when i go to the grocery store i'll see what i can find there. i hate to go back to the chiropractor - i went 2 years ago, and haven't been back in 18 months. i just don't have $75/week to blow on treatments. they didn't help my migraines (going off the pill helped that, and it was free, well, $20 and a heap of HBP pills and glucaphage pills later...) but the best advice i saw was to lay off the knitting for a while, and let my joints heal. and like i said, that's hard. but my wrists hurt to the point that when i rub the side of my left one my thumb goes numb. that's NOT cool.
farm show is next week. i'm saving my pin money for yarn, spices, beeswax votives and fancy candies. woot! we're going on wednesday, when i think sheep to shawl is taking place. i think we'll be there too early to see it but it'd be neat to see some of the competition.
