i just finished entering all my yarn stash. i have **265** yarns. about 20 have been used in various projects and some were used in raffle baskets. but still, ***265***!!!!! i don't even want to convert that into dollars. hope i can drive on yarn fumes.
so yes, it's time for a yarn diet. probably a good thing since i don't plan on making knitted gifts this year. well, maybe socks and stuff for my family, but not for my in-laws. and i'm thinking of making WUA squares to make blankets at church, so i can definitely use some stash there. i have yarns that i have no idear why i got them. hot pink worsted wool? pumpkin orange? not enough for sweaters. i think i got them thinking i'd make scarves and hats. they'd make some cool squares for a log home blanket.
i did have one last hurrah. i bought 2 skeins of glow in the dark yarn. probably to use for a baby blanket someday. stuff sucks tho. it's nylon and scratchy as hell. i could knit glow in the dark brillo pads with the stuff. and it wasn't cheap either - about $20 bucks for 2 balls of scratchy yarn!
and today i got my sock blanks and dyes. i'm going to make some ombre-dyed socks, in sapphire blue and chestnut brown. so i'll have a pair of blue socks and a pair of brown socks. i can't wait to try that. i also ordered some books since KP had a book sale - a sock book (surprise there) and 101 projects for one skein wonders. Libby's sock minis are in there.
so now i'm DONE. no more yarn. i have to use what i got. we want a new car. and we can't certainly drive yarn.
