when stupidity pays off

i'm a bit annoyed that the government is stepping in to help foolish idiots insipid homeowners people who owe big time on mortgages.

we bought our home 10 years ago. we have a 17 year mortgage that in less than 7 years we'll own our home outright. at the time we bought our home, there wasn't much in our pay bracket to pick from. cheap homes were crap, and mcmansions were way out of our league. we could have gone that route but would have to take a 30 year mortgage, but i'd have to work a dozen jobs to live there. since i like having a life, we got the home that suited our pocketbooks and it has not let us down. it is a beautiful early 20th century farm house style home that we have enjoyed renovating over the years.

what pisses me off is how people are approved for homes that they clearly cannot afford. i'm angry that mortgage lenders did this just so they'd have more money. i'm angry at the home owners who didn't take into account that they can't afford a $500,000 home on a mcdonald's budget. and because these deadbeats screwed up, uncle sam gets to clean up their mess. on OUR DIME.

it isn't fair. we could use that money too. it sucks when being a screw up is lucrative, and living a clean life is a detriment.

our society lives in the total outer limits.
