we still haven't heard about the bill for the RE. last time we checked, insurance was waiting for information from the clinic before either paying the bill/soaking us. after a few weeks of monitoring with no end in sight, hubby called the insurance and the hospital to figure out what was going on. according the insurance, the claim is closed, until the hospital sends either a case history or treatment plan. hospital billing said they had no note of this in their system. the clinic "doesn't send out information, that comes from medical records." medical records had no note to send information but made notation of it in the system, so "if we get a bill we are to call and complain since it is not our responsibility". what a fucking circle jerk. it must be nice to write off a $1500 bill. if we get that bill, *i* will call and raise holy hell. this is not acceptable. i don't think we should be responsible for payment when the hospital can't be bothered to send out information that takes, what 5 minutes to prepare.
this never would have happened at the clinics i worked at previously. i used to do medical billing, once upon a time, and i remember the times i got my ass chewed when we didn't get paid either enough or fast enough. maybe that amount is small change to a hospital, but to a clinic that was a month's worth of bills or someone's salary. and medical facilities wonder why they're hemorrhaging money.
oh, the van we wanted to buy? it sold. so much for waiting. next time, we'll pounce.
