i'm getting a double dose of faith-based movies this weekend.
i've been wanting to see "fireproof", the movie with kirk cameron in it, which has strong faith based lessons in it. i had to spend $4 from pay per view for it, but so far it's been worth it. i heard that it's an excellent movie and so far it hasn't disappointed me.
last night i spent nearly $4 for "bridge to terabithia." i read this book in grade school and several times since, and it's one of my favorite young adult books. the movie worked pretty close to the book with some slight changes in the story line, but otherwise it was an excellent movie. there was a small part in the movie, where one character went to church with her friend's family, and she had a lot of questions and beliefs about faith. i was surprised yet delighted to see someone so young questioning her friends about faith. i realize it was just a movie, but it's nice to see that message in a movie where millions of children will see it. it's too bad that faith is so taboo in television and movie media. i think the world could use a huge dose if it right now.
