this week is the yearly trek to knoebels with the parental unit in laws. basically it means sitting in kiddie land while the boy rides and rides and rides and you sit and watch him. meet up with family we only see a couple times a year and play catch up. it's all good.
last weekend i went to knitters underground in centre hall and spent OBSCENE SUMS OF MONEY on yarn that i really don't need. i now own 2 types of orange wool (dale of norway and plymouth), more sock yarn for xmas pressies, and this pretty rusty tweed that was on sale for 3 bucks a hank that i have no clue what to do with but hope someday will figure that out. also got a new shawl pin to go with the blue shawl i finally finished. funny, but the target and weggie's bills were way cheaper than the yarn bill. and i wonder why we can't lower our credit card bill yet!
i am almost finished with the scarf for MMiL. hat is done and is so big and slouchy it's almost rastafarian. also started the shawl with the basket drawing yarn. i thought the varigated sparkle/mohair had some brown in it and at first i didn't think it went with the brown yarn, but with the brown mohair and 2 kinds of brown yarn it's looking pretty interesting. this yarn, double and sometimes single stranded on size 15's will give it a loose airy look.
gotta go. stomach is eating itself.
