it's been 5 years since i lost my first baby. i miscarried starting halloween night and ended on all saints day. i wasn't far along, but we'd been trying for several months to get pregnant. remember charlotte's miscarriage from satc? that's how mine played out. EXACTLY. down to going to a baby shower a week after it happened (instead of going to a b-day party). i was in full panic attack mode and how i survived i don't know. we had the boy a year later, and i love him to death, but sometimes i wonder what could have been.
a few things i also didn't want to forget...
i got yummy loose tea down at reading terminal. ceylon, cherry blossom and chai. i never used loose tea before and now i have some so i can use my tea balls. i also bought a pouch of candied violets. fancy.
yesterday i stepped back in time and visited a farmers market and also drove past my old house and church. the market was a blast (lotsa meat, veggies, cheese and cheap oranges and a scooby doo). i also bought an old tin picnic basket for $15. now it houses the boy's thomas cars. i was going to use it for yarn stash but thought it'd look cooler in front of the tv holding the toys. the town where i grew up looks so rough. it really does look like a pioneer town. it sits smack dab between 2 larger town areas and the only store there is a quickmart. the old bank is no more. my school looks so small now. my house and the church look ratty. my dad never left our properties look like that. oh well, that's the new generation of ministers for ya!
oh, and i got an email that vh FINALLY got my email (after 2 tries). unfortunately, there's NO MORE YARN and all i get is a fucking shoutout. you'd think someone who DESIGNED yarn would have a few balls of it laying around the house. it wasn't my fault that my email got hung up. i think it blows, but such is life.
i now have to roast a cauliflower the size of the elephant man's head. and steam some pea pods and bake some breaded pork chops. yummers.
