today i turn 34.
it's funny how the older you get, the more birthdays become such an non issue. today's my birthday, and i don't care.
i had my ice cream cake, altho it melted all over the bottom shelf of my fridge becos i didn't freeze it when i came home. so it made this gloppy sloppy mess which i poured into a big ziploc container. the swirls of chocolate, vanilla and blue icing and chocolate crumbs made the coolest marbly swirls.
hubby is bringing home kfc extra crispy for me. he loves me.
the boy is pissed becos it's MY birthday and not HIS. he'll be doubly pissed becos tomorrow is HUBBY'S b'day and not his. are there any more kids out there that are so egocentric as mine?
today is the 24 anniversary of my grandfather's death. pap was very ill, with heart disease and scleraderma, and he died on my 10th birthday. i don't know many people who have had favorite loved ones die on their birthday but it's a club that i belong to unfortunately. his wife is my gram who's been sick these past few months. i sometimes wonder what it would be like if he was still alive. i wonder what he thinks of the boy. i wonder if he's proud.
enough with the depressing post. it's my birthday. yay me.
