hubby is sanding the living and dining room floors. since it's noisy and dirty i hung out in the computer room and red up some shelves. i now have 2 shelves of knitting books. ONLY 2 shelves. i surprise even myself.
the majority of my pattern books were in a basket that sat under the coffee table. my larger pattern books were next to the sofa. my novels were in the computer room in the big bookshelves. hubby gave me the idea of putting the books in the small built in alcove shelf, which housed mostly picture frames and knicknacks. i have no idear what i'll do if i get more books! clean out another shelf i suppose. but now the books are easily accessible - pulling out the basket every time i wanted a book really was a pain in the ass.
as i went through the books i entered them into my knitting library on ravelry. i have 42 books there. what books i couldn't find on ravelry (such as the novels and a few odd pattern books) i posted on some library website that ravelry recommends. i have 38 books there. i have 80 knitting books. so THAT'S where my money went! whew!
i also ordered some glow in the dark yarn from woolstock.com. i saw a blurb about it my simply knitting and thought what the heck, should be interesting stuff. i have no idear what to do with it but i bought 2 skeins of it. they suggested using it on a baby blanket, which i think would be neat.
speaking of baby stuff, i think i'm getting sick of knitting baby caps. i keep looking at the skeins of yarn i bought for my baby projects, looking forlorn and sad in their clear sacks, crying to be used. i bought some pretty yellow bamboo yarn and when i looked at it today i thought, i should use it for squares and make a blanket of squares with it. the idear of knitting an afghan is so daunting. if i make one with squares, maybe it'll go fast.
speaking of squares, check out the last knitty gritty ever - knitty gritty knitsters. it had some really cool stuff on it. definitely check it out.
i'm bored. maybe i'll check out some of my unearthened pattern books for kicks.
