KDO has come and gone for the year, and i really enjoyed myself.
the toe up sock techniques was a really interesting class. i learned how to do the magic cast on, the one i had such trouble with! i also learned some new heels and bind offs.
moebius scarf class was very interesting, but it was in the latter part of the day and i was fried. i had to frog my scarf a couple times becos i couldn't cast on right. i started my scarf at home tho and am halfway through it. it's gonna be gorgeous.
i blew my pin money on more stash. i love cherie anne designs, she makes the most yummy yarn. i got a hank of her chunky lotiony yarn with some ribbon spun thru it. it will be reincarnated as a scarf. i got another hank of her fall yarn, i'm thinking something felted but don't know what yet. i also got some gorgeous sock yarn. like i need more sock yarn but this is so pretty with teal and salmon throughout. i still haven't knit her yarn from last year. it's that part of stash that you just don't touch becos it's so beautiful. so far i haven't found any patterns worthy of its beauty. the stuff should be shown in a museum. if this yarn was a designer, she'd be manolo blahnik.
i got some pretty sapphire twinkly silver yarn for socks. i'm thinking a pair of cookie a. socks are coming out of that hank. some lantern moon yarn with beads and stones - another scarf. a hank of blue green tweed - do i see a pattern here with the blue-green tweed? i have so many skeins of it. and i found the yarn i want to make my clapotis with - crystal palace merino 5 in purples, blues and greens. so luscious. i want to swim in it.
i met some fellow ravelers, which was really neat. i hope next year they put a "ravelry" label on the name tags, with our screen names, so we can recognize each other.
it's funny. on saturday i couldn't shut up about KDO. today (it's tuesday and i'm backdating this post) i'm speechless about it.
can't wait for KDO next year.
