last year i started a knitting group at my church, so we could do charity knitting.
about 20 people came out interested in knitting or learning to knit.
at my first group i had less than 10. some could knit, others wanted to learn. so i taught. and suggested ideas for projects.
okay. let's knit preemie caps...and prayer shawls.
after about 6 months, we had about a dozen hats...and 2 shawls.
this fall, we started again. out of 4 sessions, only 2 people showed up. decided to add baptismal shawls to the mix.
i feel discouraged about my group. i know people are busy. i know not everyone is a maniacal knitter like me. that's okay. but somedays i feel like sysephus, trying to push the boulder up the hill. i toyed with ending the group.
until 2 weeks ago, when a lady gave me some receiving blankets for a local hospital. they weren't knit, but were cute flannel receiving blankets.
then last week dad told me someone left knitting needles and books in the library for me. and more needles and books were given to me from another lady. a lady in my church was moving and didn't want to throw her things away, instead she gave them to me. i gave the needles and patterns to the group...and kept the woolco book for perusing. so intriguing.
then yesterday another lady said she had yarn for our group to use. some of it french.
okay, are you telling me something, God? are you telling me to keep up the group and continue your work, even tho i don't feel a lot of support?
okay, i'll keep going.
