they are not fans of their hats. petunia likes to chew on hers, and freddie, who usually tolerates hats, obviously did not like this one.
pattern is kyle's kap by beverly galeskas, knit with mission falls 1824 cotton yarn. the bill and band are knit with 2 strands of yarn, which was tricky, but the pattern is pretty simple.
i gots socks:
the yarn harlot's basic sock recipe, in brown sheep lamb's pride superwash sport in northern lights. they look black in the picture but they're actually a dark purply blue. these are gram's xmas 2008 socks. she usually asks for socks for xmas, and that year i just couldn't get my head into the game and knit them. now that i've knit 3 pairs of socks within the space of the month, i think it's safe to say that i'm back to knitting socks.
i'm starting a new pair! cookie a's monkey in kraemer yarn's sterling silk and silver yarn. this yarn has been sitting in stash for nearly 2 years, waiting for the right pattern...i think this fits the bill. so far i have a ribbed cuff. and if i'm lucky, they will be good enough to enter in the bloom fair this year.
