i feel like i just jumped off of a cliff.
for the past several months, i've been tinkering with making stitch markers. that's one of my favorite hobbies. i scour my favorite bead store and find whatever bead tickles my fancy, then create a stitch marker from it. the majority of my stitch markers are the eye pin/jump ring variety, but i did recently branch out and made snag-free markers last month. also, my stitch markers don't match. the ones you can buy on etsy come in sets, mostly matchy. mine aren't matchy. and that's okay.
anyway, i inadvertently created a set of stitch markers last winter. the angel heart, the fairy, the butterfly and the dotty disk. i called them the HAPL healing garden after the ravelry group i frequent. we were sending "care packages" to several members who were experiencing difficulties, and i sent a couple sets of the markers for the group "goodie" box.
i thought about selling the markers and giving the money to a group like the march of dimes or something for pregnancy loss awareness. life has a way of disrupting things tho, and the markers went on the back burner for a while.
after sitting on my craft desk for the past few months, i decided it was time to get off the pot and start moving units.
So i present to you, diva mcknitster's stitch markers. FOR SALE!!
click on the hapl healing garden stitch markers link at the side under "diva knits with these" (or click on the hyperlink if you're feeling particularly lazy!) and it will give you more details on my stitch marker sets. i plan on selling these at my favorite LYS in the near future, but you can also order a set from me - just drop me an email.
the other reason i feel like i'm jumping off a cliff... I AM HAVING A CONTEST TOO!
i obviously have a name for my HAPL healing garden markers. and i call the stained glass ones my "cathedral" markers. but i wish i had a zingy name for the rainbow ones. right now they are my "rainbow" markers, but i wish they had a more "colorful" name.
this is where you come in! here's the game plan:
1. what would you name these markers? shoot me a comment with your suggestion!
2. i'll sift through the names, and the one most zingy and colorful that tickles my fancy will WIN A SET OF STITCH MARKERS!
3. i'll also send you an equally zingy and colorful skein of yarn too!
4. easy peasy, right? :)
have fun with this! and good luck!
