it's a sickness, really

i fell down yet again and bought another set of stitch markers.

mood stitch markers from one of my favorite etsy shops, lady danio.
Untitled

they really do change colors!
Untitled

i promptly put them to work on my princess shawl.

turquoise blue - emotionally charged and somewhat relaxed.
Untitled

a putrid pinkish grey (unfeeling and emotionally detached).
Untitled

bright blue - relaxed, feeling loose with emotions, flowing, at ease with yourself.
Untitled

a pretty purple (the ultimate - totally involved emotionally with a high degree of attention, passion or inner focus.  a feeling of being open, happy and satisfied).
Untitled

i love them.  they are awesome.

feeding my addiction

yep, i caved, and bought more stitch markers:

these were on my etsy wish list - they are by winemakers sister.  my bday is coming up, so i splurged.  i'm also eyeing up her owl markers...

fripperies n bibelots also had a fresh batch of fruit bowl stitch markers - these are the markers i fell in love with and lead me to her beautiful work:

i now have so many stitch markers i had to divide them up and put them in separate containers.  the ones on the left are my boughten markers and sets i've made; the ones on the right are my singles:

stitch marker addiction - i haz it BAD.

beads

i got these beads recently:

blue green owls

violet owls

vintage flower beads.  i have no idea what i'll do with them, but i couldn't pass them up.  i wish i bought more - don't they look cheerful?

gothic skull cameos.  these have a flat back and are supposed to be for earrings or a flat pendant.  i'll have to dig around the jewelry section at michael's to see what i can find, becos i really want to make these into stitch markers.

i purchased these beads at delphine's flower bead shop.  i was looking for some beads i'd purchased earlier this year online and came across her shop.  she has lovely pieces - check her out!

more treats from the mail fairy

i can't be trusted on etsy.  i keep finding new cool things.  like these:

i found this little cutie on knitterella's blog.  knitifact's glass stitch markers are like perfect little jewels.  hootie is currently earning his keep on my KDO cap.  i love him.

then these arrived:

i found LadyDanio via an ad at the bottom of a page on ravelry (gotta love those ads).  she creates stitch makers from deconstructed jewelry and reclaimed beads.  her work is exquisite and i love the fact that i have a one of a kind set of stitch markers.  it was the shamrock that sold me, but i am most intrigued by the hammered rings.

then goodies from my favorite british etsy shop, fripperiesnbibelots:

not stitch markers, but a big splurge for me:

signature circs in size 4 and 6.  i got 40 inchers, useful for shawls, ML socks or mittens or whatever.  i hope to add more circs to my collection, but these seem to be the most used needle sizes for me.  i love my DPNs.  i love the stiletto points.  once you use them it's hard to go back to blunter needles.

and another skein of ella rae merino lace.  so i can attempt citron #2, and perhaps make it longer with salvaged yarn from citron #1.
