harbinger of the end of summer

every july/august, i pass this farmer's field of sunflowers.  please excuse the picture.  it really is craptastic.

actually, the sunflowers are on the downside.  they were in brilliant bloom a couple of weeks ago, when i passed them while taking the boys to the doctors.

i remember the sunflowers every year.  i remember passing this field on my way to and from the ob/gyn for 2 pregnancies.  they always cheered me up.

guess you can tell - sunflowers are some of my favorite flowers.
