cute as a button

the first of my baby knitting has begun.  i knocked off this cute little baby hat:

this is kyle's kap by bev galeskas.  knitted it with mission falls 1824 cotton in cardinal, i chose to knit the cap entirely in red and not two toned like the kiddos' caps.  the yarn was stash that i got last year at glenda's knit knook.  the hat should fit baby from age 6-18 months.  my cousin's hubby is a big baseball fan, so i think they'll like the hat.

i forgot how tough the brim and band are knit with doubled yarn on size 7 needles.  my finger tips and wrists hurt pretty bad from it.  it's a pretty straight forward pattern though.

the hat was actually too small for the kiddos, so snoopy had to model it:

now i have to just knit a sweater, socks, and a toy.  got the sweater pattern, just need the yarn.  socks won't be hard.  a toy - so many cute patterns out there - should i knit the mama duck and ducklings pull toy?  a sock monkey?  i keep thinking about this dear giraffe.  and i'm torn about blankets - a log cabin like the kiddos', or a poppin blanket?  so many choices!
