wielding the black bar. or rather, the blue and red one:
no, i haven't lost my mind and started knitting with red heart. it's for a very special project.
a few years ago the library knitting group made scarves for the special olympics. the scarves were to be knit with certain blue and cream colors as the project was sponsored by red heart yarns. as i am highly adversed to red heart i fudged and used patons for the cream colored yarn, but had to buy the red heart for the blue yarn. i made a moebius scarf and a short scarf knit lengthwise.
i read in one of the knitting magazines that red heart yarns and the special olympics are asking for scarves for upcoming events. i remembered how much i enjoyed knitting those scarves for a special athelete. how could i NOT participate again?!
here's the linky for further information! the scarves should be between 54" to 60" inches in length, and 6 inches wide. scarfy should be completed and shipped out before february 1, 2012 (that's for PA, anyway).
i'm going to make another moebius scarf. despite the crap yarn, i can't wait!

Have fun! Though, Red Heart HAS gotten better over time. I remember when I was learning to knit, it was the only yarn you could find in my area! I became a knitting snob only after going to college :)
