my bright spot of the week

this week has been suckypoo. hubby had a rotten week at work with various computer calamities. MIL is going to umpteen doctor appointments and tests. the boy is out of school for the summer now and i have to figure out how to occupy him without either of us going crazy. wednesday came to a head, and i had me a good cry. my sinuses and head are messed up from it, but darned if it didn't feel good.

my bright spot of the week (well, 2 bright spots) is that i got my knitting porn on saturday - the KDO booklet! it's like xmas in june when that comes! i picked a class (plus some alternates) and sent my registration in. yesterday i got my registration back - i got in the double knitting class in the afternoon. joy and rapture! i've been wanting to learn this technique forever and hopefully i'll get to take the class.

the only fly in the ointment with KDO is that it's the last saturday in september. the babies are due mid september, but i'd wager a guess that they'll prolly come mid august. that gives me 6 weeks to recoup from surgery and have some semblance of a normal schedule with the babies. i only picked one class (and that was HARD, since there were tons of really good classes being offered) and it's an afternoon one in case we have a bad night with the babies. i asked hubby to drive me (and the kiddos) down and while i'm off learning to double knit, he can visit his sister down there (praying that there's no penn state game that weekend). and a trip to red rabbit is on tap for lunch too!

i'm being realistic that in case this little scenario doesn't happen, that i have until august 22 to cancel and get my money back, and even if i have to eat my money, i can call and give my spot to someone else. but i'm thinking good thoughts at this time.

KDO is like game 7 of the world series, super bowl, and the basketball finals all wrapped up in one. it is the only day of the year where i'm not someone's wife, mom or daughter, but diva the knitter. i am with others who are as passionate about their craft as i am. and the yarn market just rocks.
