a couple weeks ago i got a peanut chew candy at the grocery store - i saw it at the checkout counter and thought it would sate my chocolate jones (plus it was in the original goldenberg wrapping, which i hadn't seen in years). when i opened it up the next day, the chocolate was white. i decided to email the company and tell them that their candy had turned.
yesterday this came in the mail:
a letter of apology (explaining that the white was the "bloom" and it was caused by temperature fluxes) and that while it didn't look good the candy was still edible. they sent me a bag of candy plus a candy bar.
when i opened the candy bar, the chocolate was white. :P
oh well, free candy. can't complain about that.
