last week i shared my kids' favorite halloween and autumn books. this week, i share mine.
i discovered weird us several years ago when i found the weird PA book in a local bookstore. this series of books has anecdotes about urban legends and oddities found around the US. i have a second weird US book (i think my dad still has it). they're just fun to read.

i live on the cusp of coal country, so it's natural that i have a few books about that. centralia isn't necessarily a ghost story, but it is a tragic one. (the movie silent hill reminds me of it). i found the pennsylvania books at barnes and noble in state college (they have a fairly decent local history section). i got the little big book of chills and thrills many years ago - it's a nice volume of famous scary stories and poems and even tidbits about halloween and samhain.
enjoy these books curled up with a cuppa and a cozy afghan.
